Congratulations to the following students who were "Caught Being a Hornet" for the month of May!

4th graders celebrated 80s day and had a glow party for reaching their AR goal today! So much fun!

Our 4th grade students have officially wrapped up their State Float Projects — and WOW, they absolutely crushed it!
Students brought creativity, hard work, and pride into researching their chosen state and building a unique float to represent it. From colorful landmarks to fun facts, their presentations were very informative!

Congratulations to Mrs. Nolan for being named the News-Gazette Teacher of the Week! She's incredibly deserving. Her efforts to help our students should be highlighted and celebrated! Her answers in the article highlight how deeply passionate she is about the success of our students and her ability to understand them and their individual interests.

Congratulations to Señora Diaz for being named the 2025 Regional Office of Education #11 Recognition of Excellence Award Recipient for Tuscola CUSD 301. She's as good as it gets in foreign language education. Balancing large section numbers yet still being able to connect with individual students. Furthermore, she's an excellent advocate and source of support for so many of our students and families!

4th graders are taking their big states and capitals test today! They’ve been working up to this test since the beginning of the year. Any student that earns an A will be rewarded with a pizza party next week!

TCHS senior, Dayne Lough, just recently finished his 2nd year at LIFT in Mattoon. McLain Schaefer, the Director of LIFT, had this to say about him--"Dayne has been a tremendous asset to us at LIFT. Not only is Dayne our first HVAC Youth Apprentice but has set the standard in our program even going as far as to lead some of the training for our current students. To say we are proud is an understatement."
Please see the video below to learn more about Dayne's plan and story. The video was created by Cooper Spencer who is a student at Mattoon High School and is also enrolled at LIFT.

Tuscola High School would like to express our sincere thanks to our community who continues to support our students through scholarships. At today's Honors Day Ceremony, we distributed a new Honors Day record of nearly $190,000 in local scholarship money.
A heartfelt thank you to all who supported the Class of 2025 today.

Our Seniors last day was today! While we know they learned a lot, we might have to bring them back next week for a refresher in Driver Education!
We do appreciate their humor and innocent fun!

Congrats to Troy Hartwig and Whitney Canull who graduated from LIFE Academy this morning!

Happy Nurses Week to our favorite Nurse! Mrs. Bozarth goes above and beyond to care for our students at each building every day. We are very lucky to have her as our School Nurse!

What do the EP Girls Track Team do with the Hornets the receive for performing a PR (personal record)? They display them on their lockers. Pictured are a random sample of Hornet collections. Come see the team earn more Hornets this Saturday at 10:00am as they compete in the sectional meet hosted here in Tuscola.

Congrats to Quinn Holmes and Kash Aten who were celebrated at the Illinois Principals Association Student Recognition Breakfast earlier this week. Both Quinn and Kash were awarded for their contributions as leaders at North Ward. The way they treat their peers and teachers is worthy of recognition!

Congratulations to Mrs Hoel's Creative Expressions class! Each member's work was chosen to be published this Fall in the Young Writers Unsolved-Criminally Good Sagas.

Yesterday, we had our last preschool with these precious children. The students in our high school's Early Childhood Education class planned and executed the last five sessions and did an outstanding job!
