This afternoon, our 5th–7th graders engaged in hands-on learning with amazing presenters, gaining essential life skills along the way. A special thank you to Officer Adam Brazzell, Arrow Ambulance, Ayla DeLeva, Brian Moody, Chase Hutchison, Kristina Smith and Summer Phillips.

Ms. Stenger's students came up with the idea to throw a graduation party for Kam for all he's done to help 4th grade this year. The whole fourth grade signed a basketball for him. The students did a pretty great job planning and surprising him!

Mr. Picazo was so excited to meet Pikachu!

Our 4th grade students have officially wrapped up their State Float Projects — and WOW, they absolutely crushed it!
Students brought creativity, hard work, and pride into researching their chosen state and building a unique float to represent it. From colorful landmarks to fun facts, their presentations were very informative!

Congratulations to Mrs. Nolan for being named the News-Gazette Teacher of the Week! She's incredibly deserving. Her efforts to help our students should be highlighted and celebrated! Her answers in the article highlight how deeply passionate she is about the success of our students and her ability to understand them and their individual interests.

Congratulations to Señora Diaz for being named the 2025 Regional Office of Education #11 Recognition of Excellence Award Recipient for Tuscola CUSD 301. She's as good as it gets in foreign language education. Balancing large section numbers yet still being able to connect with individual students. Furthermore, she's an excellent advocate and source of support for so many of our students and families!

4th graders are taking their big states and capitals test today! They’ve been working up to this test since the beginning of the year. Any student that earns an A will be rewarded with a pizza party next week!

TCHS senior, Dayne Lough, just recently finished his 2nd year at LIFT in Mattoon. McLain Schaefer, the Director of LIFT, had this to say about him--"Dayne has been a tremendous asset to us at LIFT. Not only is Dayne our first HVAC Youth Apprentice but has set the standard in our program even going as far as to lead some of the training for our current students. To say we are proud is an understatement."
Please see the video below to learn more about Dayne's plan and story. The video was created by Cooper Spencer who is a student at Mattoon High School and is also enrolled at LIFT.
